Larry Werner

About Us

Larry Werner has spent almost 38 years as a writer and editor with American newspapers. He’s been business editor, community-involvement editor and a business writer for the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. Before moving to Minnesota in 1983, he worked as an editor and writer in Dallas, Texas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Detroit, Mich., and Louisville, Ky. During his time in the news business, he has frequently lectured on media access to college classes and business groups. His community-involvement work included managing an ongoing public issues forum called the Minnesota Citizens’ Forum, a partnership of the Star Tribune, Twin Cities Public Television and WCCO Radio. He also facilitated scores of listening sessions for his colleagues at the Star Tribune to help them understand the needs of readers and communities.
